TTV Dhinakaran: A nephew of Sasikala, he was re-inducted into the party and appointed deputy general secretary by her shortly before she proceeded to serve the jail term, apparently to keep the hold on the party with the family.
Panneerselvam had on Wednesday demanded a CBI probe against Sasikala, following allegations from several people, including AIADMK veterans, that she had poisoned Jayalalithaa.
On Monday, the Delhi Police today booked Dhinakaran for allegedly trying to bribe an Election Commission official in a failed bid to obtain the coveted "two-leaves" party symbol for his faction. Finance Minister D Jayakumar, who attended the meeting held by EPS, said, "Sasikala's family will be delinked from the party's affairs.
This is our faction's first victory that Sasikala and her family have been ousted from the party", OPS was quoted by news agency ANI as saying. Panneerselvam said no one from the Sasikala family should interfere in the functioning of the AIADMK.

The action comes in the wake of inputs that Dhinakaran was an NRI and could try to flee, police said.
Before heading to prison, Ms Sasikala placed her nephew in charge of the party and a loyalist, E Palaniswami as Chief Minister. Jayakumar denied rumours that Sasikala and Mr. Dhinakaran have resigned from the party.More news: Stalker held by Secret Service after begging Malia Obama to marry him
During the day, it had appeared that there was an impasse in the talks to merge the two sides - a move that would give back the united political outfit the Two Leaves poll symbol of the AIADMK on which MG Ramachandran and J Jayalalithaa won elections. "We have chose to keep the Sasikala family away from party affairs", Jayakumar had told after the meeting.
The faction's (former) supremo VK Sasikala is in jail.
"If approached, we are ready to sit and talk and I have confidence that they [leaders] will come [for talks]", he told reporters at the airport. The EC had earlier frozen the symbol because each faction of the party claimed it. "When they make such sudden announcement there must be some fear", he said, adding, the revolt was a decision made in a "hurry". "They can maximum put me behind bars".
K Palaniswami: Another of Jayalalithaa, he was chosen as the chief minister by the Sasikala camp.
Lok Sabha Deputy Speaker M. Thambidurai, speaking to a news channel in New Delhi on Wednesday, urged Dinakaran to respect the party's decision.
The Panneerselvam camp is discussing the latest developments.
